A little ramble of how I first came to practice..
I come from a background in the Performing Arts & so I spent a relative amount of time training in dance. I was never a person who was naturally drawn to sport or exercise as a child, but I always loved to move. Unfortunately, the pressures of dance & performing affected my relationship with my body & food in a particularly negative way. For a long time anything to do with my body felt like a battle & or a fight. I was either working hard attacking my body trying to get it into a shape like I could approve of, or disregarding it completely. My stress levels began to soar & I started to suffer with frequent panic attacks.
Firstly I learnt to meditate, nothing wild or fancy, just guided youtube videos, but enough to find small moments of calm in the spinning of my mind. I then began slowly finding my way to yoga, & I started to untie some of those manic tight knots inside myself. I slowly learnt to find my inner connection, & little by little to take that into my life & keep me grounded. Breathe through my fears (- not stop them).
The physical practice has taught me loving connection with my body, learning how to work with my body, not against it. The philosophy & everything that studying yoga holds, enriches my experiences daily - it's an endless learning curve.
I chose the name Flow Rogue, because I believe in creating and finding your personal yoga for your personal journey - not a pre prescribed path, so 'Rogue'. I believe there is a Yoga for everyone, it might just take a little of carving your own path.
Personal knowledge & freedom leaks out. Personal freedom, is, in time, collective freedom. Learning our own boundaries, encourages us to fight for the protection of others.
Encouraging care, community & connection is at the heart of my teaching. Inviting space for our fullness and fabulousness in all own practices - I guide a variety of styles of practice, but all of them have inclusivity & empowerment at their heart.
Comments, queries, concerns or a desire to chat - give me a buzz.
