Testimonial

'Sarah’s classes really got me into yoga, it wasn’t dogmatic is was fun and free, challenging when you needed soft when you needed. A light hearted approach with sprinklings of philosophy that have helped shape the path I’m walking today!

It’s been around 2 years I’ve been practicing with Sarah and every class has been as warm and welcoming as the first, you can really see the passion and intention in her teaching not just in asana but in philosophy and now sound. I have been able to have a space to cry and laugh sometimes at the same time.

It’s been a space of expression, discipline and self love and I can’t express how important that has been for me!  Thanks a bunch Sarah you da best!!'

About Sarah

Why Yoga

A little ramble of how I first came to practice..

I come from a background in the Performing Arts & so I spent a relative amount of time training in dance alongside my musical training. I was never a person who was naturally drawn to sport or exercise as a child. Unfortunately, the pressures of dance & performing affected my relationship with my body & food in a particularly negative way. For a long time anything to do with my body felt like a battle & or a fight. I was either working hard attacking my body trying to get it into a shape like I could approve of, or disregarding it completely. My stress levels  began to soar & for a few years I was suffering with frequent panic attacks.

Firstly I learnt to meditate, nothing wild or fancy, just guided youtube videos, but enough to find small moments of calm in the spinning of my mind. I then began slowly finding my way to yoga, & I started to untie some of those manic tight knots inside myself. I slowly learnt to find my inner connection, & little by little to take that into my life & keep me grounded. Breathe through my fears (- not stop them).

The physical practice has taught me loving connection with my body, learning how to work with my body, not against it. The philosophy & everything that studying yoga holds, enriches my experiences daily - it's an endless learning curve.

I chose the name Flow Rogue, because I believe in creating and finding your personal yoga for your personal journey - not a pre prescribed path, so 'Rogue'. I believe there is a Yoga for everyone, it might just take a little of carving your own path.

Personal knowledge & freedom leaks out. Personal freedom, is, in time, collective freedom. Learning our own boundaries, encourages us to fight for the protection of others.

Encouraging care, community & connection is at the heart of my teaching. Inviting space for our fullness and fabulousness in all own practices - I guide a variety of styles of practice, but all of them have inclusivity & empowerment at their heart.

Comments, queries, concerns or a desire to chat - give me a buzz.
